GM Migration Solutions is based in Brisbane, Queensland – the Sunshine State. The company was established to assist individuals, families and employers with migration and visa matters. We are registered with the Migration Agents Registration Authority and have membership of the Migration Institute of Australia.

Migration Law is complex and the recent series of immigration policy changes has left many applicants uncertain about their chances of a successful visa application.  We can expect to see more changes to the General Skilled Migration Program and the Employer Nomination Scheme in the coming months and it is critical for applicants and sponsors to confirm their eligibility before going through the visa application process.  Like any other migration agent in Australia, we cannot guarantee you a successful visa outcome even if your case looks promising. GMMS is owned and operated by Gillian Mearns, who has 15 years experience in the migration industry. Gillian spent 12 years working for the UK government in the UK Immigration Service and Foreign & Commonwealth Office and her career includes overseas visa postings at British Diplomatic Missions in Kuwait City, Ekaterinburg (Russia) and Chennai (India). She began her Australian migration career in 2004 as a trainee migration agent in Sydney and completed the required Graduate Certificate in Australian Immigration Law & Practice at Victoria University in December 2006.

Gillian migrated to Australia from Scotland in 2004 and despite an extensive background in migration law, still found the Australian visa process complex and daunting. Having gone through the migration process herself, Gillian can offer valuable first-hand experience of what migration to Australia involves and can pass on practical settlement advice.
