Business Development - Permanent

These visas are for people who have established the required level of business in Australia while holding a temporary business skills visa. There is also a direct pathway to permanent residence for high-calibre business people.

High-Calibre Business People

Business Talent (Migrant) (subclass 132)
This is a direct pathway to permanent residence for high calibre business people who are under 55 and have significant personal and business assets. Applicants must be owners or part owners of an overseas business, committed to managing a new or existing business in Australia and sponsored by a State or Territory government.

Business Owners

Business Owner (Residence) (subclass 890)
For holders of an eligible temporary Business Development visa to assist in the economic development of Australia by ownership of an Australian business. Applicants must provide evidence of ownership of a legally operating Australian business and meet the required annual turnover and assets levels.

State/Territory Sponsored Business Owner (Residence) (Subclass 892)
For holders of an eligible provisional visa who are sponsored by a State or Territory authority and who are involved in acceptable business activity. Applicants must demonstrate that they have achieved the requisite annual turnover and assets levels.

Established Business in Australia (subclass 845)
For eligible temporary residents who have established a business in Australia, have a proven ownership interest in one or more successful businesses in Australia, and have significant personal and business assets. This visa is points-tested.

Regional Established Business in Australia (subclass 846)
For eligible temporary residents who have a proven ownership interest in one or more successful businesses in a designated regional area of Australia. You must be sponsored by a state/territory government authority and have evidence of significant business and personal assets. This visa is points-tested.

Investors

Investor (Residence) (subclass 891)
For people who hold a provisional Investor visa and have maintained their designated investment for at least 4 years. Applicants must have been in Australia for at least 2 of the last 4 years and have an acceptable history of business or investment activities.

State/Territory Sponsored Investor (Residence) (subclass 893)
For holders of a provisional Investor visa who have an overall successful record of business or investment activities and significant net assets to invest in a designated investment in Australia for four years. Applicants must be committed to maintaining business and investment activity in Australia and be sponsored by a state/territory authority.
