These visas are for people seeking to establish a business, manage a new or existing business or invest in Australia. They are commonly referred to as Business Skills visas. All offer a pathway to permanent residence except the Investor Retirement visa.
Business Owners
Business Owner (Provisional) (subclass 160)
This visa is for people under 45 who have a successful business career and are committed to owning a new or existing business in Australia. You must demonstrate that you have sufficient assets to participate in this program.
State/Territory Sponsored Business Owner (Provisional) (subclass 163)
A visa for people under 55 who are sponsored by a state or territory of Australia who are committed to owning a new or existing business in Australia. You must demonstrate sufficient assets to participate in this visa program.
Senior Executives
Senior Executives (Provisional) (subclass 161)
For senior executive employees of a major overseas business who are under 45, have significant net assets and are committed to managing a new or existing business in Australia.
State/Territory Sponsored Senior Executive (Provisional) (subclass 164)
For senior executive employees of a major overseas business who are under 55, sponsored by a state or territory of Australia, have significant net assets and are committed to managing a new or existing business in Australia.
Investors
Investor (Provisional) (subclass 162)
For people under 45 who have a successful business or investment career, have substantial net assets, are committed to developing a business in Australia and can make a significant contribution to a designated investment fund.
State/Territory Sponsored Investor (Provisional) (subclass 165)
For people under 55 who are sponsored by a state or territory of Australia, who have a successful business or investment career, are committed to developing a business in Australia and can make a significant contribution to a designated investment fund.
Investor Retirement Visa (subclass 405)
A temporary visa for people aged 55 years or older who are sponsored by a State or Territory Government and are able to make a significant long term financial investment in Australia. This visa is not a pathway to a permanent visa.
Independent Executives
Independent Executive Further Application Onshore (Subclass 457IEFAO)
For holders of a Temporary Business (Long Stay) Independent Executive visa (subclass 457IE) who need more time to be eligible to apply for a permanent business visa.
