Temporary Business (Long Stay) – Standard Business Sponsorship (subclass 457)
This is the most common visa program used by employers to sponsor workers from overseas for periods from 3 months up to 4 years. If both parties are able to meet the financial and legal obligations attached to this visa, they may begin the 3-step application process:

Temporary Business (Long Stay) - Service Sellers (subclass 457)
This visa is for company representatives of overseas suppliers of services (not products) to negotiate, or enter into, agreements to supply their services in Australia under the General Agreement on Trade and Services (GATS). There is no sponsorship or nomination process.
Medical Practitioner visa (subclass 422)
This visa is for doctors registered to work in Australia and allows employment with a sponsoring organisation for 3 months to 4 years. Doctors may be overseas-trained or overseas students who have completed their medical degree in Australia.
Educational visa (subclass 418)
This visa is for educational workers and teachers to be employed in Australia on a temporary basis. The sponsoring organisation must be an Australian tertiary education or research institution, school or technical college.
Labour Agreement Program
Labour Agreements are formal arrangements for an Australian industry group or employer to recruit a specified number of overseas skilled workers on a temporary or permanent basis over a number of years.
Invest Australia Supported Skills Program
This program provides for entry of key personnel of overseas based international firms making a significant investment in Australia or establishing business operations in Australia. Employers must apply for an agreement via Invest Australia and if successful may nominate temporary or permanent positions under the program.
