SkillSelect Announced.

DIAC has announced forthcoming changes to the current General Skilled Migration Program.  The SkillSelect system is an online tool that will enable skilled workers to lodge an "Expression of Interest" (EOI) in migration to Australia. The system will allow individuals to record their details which can be accessed by employers or state and territory governments who can nominate them for a skilled visa, or they may be invited to lodge a visa application by DIAC.

Early indications suggest that there will be no Bridging Visa associated with the EOI and lodging an EOI will not guarantee a nomination or invitation to apply for a skilled visa.

SkillSelect will be implemented on 1 July 2012.

More information on the SkillSelect system will be published here as it becomes available.
